Test of Mass Communication Skills

When communication occurs between large people it is defined as mass communication. The following various factors help to test the skill of mass communication where the first two factors are called encoding skills and the next two factors are termed s decoding skills:

1. Speaking Ability: The success of mass communication is very much dependent to the ability of speaking. Such ability depends on the merit, educational qualification, experience, attitude, social and cultural motive of the sender.

2. Writing Ability: Such ability also depends on the merit, educational qualification experience, attitude, social and cultural motive of the sender. Poor writing causes confusion and misunderstanding and therefore success of mass communication is related with the development of writing ability.

3. Formation Ability: The ability to organize news, information attitude or feeling in a proper way causes development to the mass communication.

4. Listening Ability: Poor listening causes poor communication and therefore the objective of mass communication will be fruitless and ineffective. So proper listening is a vital factor to develop mass communication.

5. Other Factors: Besides the above 4 factors, proper  understanding, ability of judgement, consistency in behavior and follow-up or feedback ability are other necessary factors to test the skill of mass communication.
